Insya'Allah when taking a black and white photo, is important to balance the contrast and lightening of the object. If you have bright background, then your object must bit darker, vise versa. Because when you convert from color photo to BW photo, the contrast of light between object and backgound that differentiate it between each other. Thought you dont want to make your object to dark or bright, cos then you will loose the detail

Insya'Allah in photography, is important to decide what object you want to shoot, how is being shoot and when. This insure that your object stand out from the background. In this sense, you must also try to avoid cluttering your picture with so many distraction. To many object in your picture will make confuse viewer what to look for in your picture.

I think the best technique is the isolation technique, where you take a single object and isolate it from everything else. Is just one object and the other is the background. Below is some example I took at Morib beach.

Insya'Allah for most photographer they know that all the skill, high-tech equipment and years of experience, it all come at the point when u press the shutter button. When you capture the view, the memory and the time to be sealed forever as a picture.

Then again how we define a good photo really depends on what we search for in a photo. A mother translate a good photo as a photo which can bring back of memory of her new born child. Even thought the photo is sluggish and un-mesmerizing. A professional photographer will see success when able to portrait a lame model into a high class super-sexy-supermodel. So how you define a good photo really depends on you.

For me, personally, a good photo is not photo really pretty photo like this

The photo are natural, no post-processing, it shows how the scenery as just much as you would see with a naked eye. In a way i feel like I'm being honest in the picture and that my friend is a self-fulfilling happiness.

Alhmadulilah, from 13-15 July, my faculty successfully held it open day in conjunction of its 10t's birth

I was given the task of being the tour guide in all three days, and it was very very tiring. Then again every second satisfying and I gain new experience. There was 4 school under my tour guide, the first day was Sekolah Teknik Kanjang.

Each school made their own exhibition and demonstration, thought I've never visit the school of Mathematical Science Exhibition.

In the school of Applied Physics, there was solar technology demonstration, thin film technology and paper laboratory.

for visitor. Visitor can come and do some experiment which was a big hit. Then again the star of all demonstration is the chocolate laborotary. Every one want to got there. Personally I prefer the glass craft demonstration more.

I've been busy for some week already, I haven't post 3 shooting session in this blog. Insya'Allah There are many things that I would like to accomplish this holiday.

For this post I thought of posting something different. Rather that posting the usual shooting session that I underwent. I would like to post a camera technique that I use frequently, can be said as my favourite technique.

This technique is very easy, in shooting session that use only one light source. Put your object in a way that the light source is at the back of the object you want to take. The outcome is that object light will create a bright outline while creating a black hollow on your object.

The journey from Cameron Highland back to UKM was both scary and fascinating. The scary part was the fact the route taken was on the cliff of a mountains between the rows of mountains in the thick jungle. From the bus I can see clearly the few hundred meter drop down the cliff and there was no safety grails along the road. Yikes

Then again, is fascinating to be there. To see the blue layers of mountains in front of another creating a pictures view as the bus travel down the cliff. To see the marvelous mountain made feel very small inside. Very small and insignificant.

What another thing that struck me is the living condition of the indigenous tribe there. There are more poor than poor, their house is made of tree bark (I think) and they have to survive living in the thick jungle. No Midvalley Megamall for them, no playstation and of course no flat screen tv for them to. Do they event have electricity and clean water? I doubt it. So seeing there, I feel blessed to have the opportunity of living in the city with my cozy comfortable life. Thank you Allah s.w.t., Alhamdulilah

Above all matter, what the journey to Cameron highland has thought me is that the world just awesome to be in. From the beautiful butterfly that I saw in the butterfly farm to the vastness of the Cameron Valley tea plantation, there isn’t enough words to describe the magnificent. What Allah s.w.t. has created for human to see and realize is truly glorious and splendid.

Being in Cameron Highland I can’t help to feel very easy and calm, very serene. The paste of life there was quite slow and the atmosphere is just welcoming. So that’s why my last post title “The place where I can relax”, I feel truly relaxed back there. I even thought of spending my retiree time there. Between the mountains of Pahang, in the relaxed atmosphere of Cameron highland.

A place that I can rest: Cameron Highland. Day 2

I remember the morning star just like today, the air is cold and the sun just shining brightly with its golden rays. It’s a nice morning to star up our second and last day here at Cameron highlands. Thank you god for this splendid morning.

Our first activity of the day was to go on a hiking, up the mountain. The mountain that was chosen by the organizing community was not high, so is just suitable to the least adventurous. As I walked to the mountain, what struck me the most is how common farms are in this region. People houses are literally next to a farm. I guess the soil must be really rich that it is easy and relatively cheap to be farming.

The walk up to the mountain was short, 30 minute or so. However the place was magnificent, is like walking to a fairy tale forest. Feel like some witch craft resided in this place. Is does not feel creepy but more like delighting easy kind of way. I must say, this place give me out of the best shooting experience. Alhamdulilah.

The next stop in our journey is the famous Cameron Highland the plantations. The site was magnificent; I was like a kid in candy shop. The background is just marvelous for a camera shoot, and that was just happened. As during our visit day, a short movie shooting was taking place. The crew said the movie is like some magical Chinese movie, and I thought this place just suit nicely for that kind of movie.

We continue to our next destination, the Lake House. Well not in the lake house but near to the lake house. I never thought that is the mountain region there will be a lake, but there it was, a vast windy lake, Allah s.w.t. is truly graceful in its creation. Actually the moment I step out from the bus, I was kind of let down by this place. It was afternoon and rather hot, plus there was just too many flies around. However after I finish my lunch and join my friends at the bridge, my view was wrong and changed completely.

The last destination in this journey is Latta Iskandar, a waterfall just next to the rod, literally. Nothing much to say about this place as I think our local Tekala water fall is much better than Latta Iskandar.

A place that I can rest: Cameron Highland. Day 1

Alhamdulilah, sometimes good thing happens in your life. You go to a nice place, meet with with good friends and have a good time. This are are the word that can describe best about my last vacation to Cameron Highland.

The last time i went to cameron higland is in my early days of childhood, so I have lost pretty much memory how was that place like. Thought it is a good thing that I forget, because things are more exciting when there are the first times. So pretty much I can say that last weekend is the first time I went to Cameron Higland in some years. ^_^

It started by some by a briefing by the organizer (PERDANA).

Then off we go to Cameron Higland, the ride was pretty smooth until it started to rain. When the bus in its middle way of climbing the mountain, it started to rain and the wind stated blowing heavily.

And then BOOM, a tree fell on to the road in front of us. We were dead locked. In the freezing wheatear of the mountain and between the cold icy rain drop we waited for the bomba to arrive. It took us 2 hours till we are able to continue again in our journey

But all this freezing cold waiting in the bus is worth it. We arrive at Tanah Rata Cameron highland approximately at 6 o'clock and when straight to the mosque. There we have prey, have breakfast and relax a bit

Finishing our breakfast we off to our first attraction, MARDI. The place is well keep and the flower just bloom brightly. Here we got the oldest tea plantation in Malaysia, a verity of gardens and of course European architecture. If you are planning to go to cameron higland, I highly recommend to visit this place.

After feeling tired of walking around the place (is a big place), we are ready to go to our accommodation. The place we went is Mariana Chalet and Homestay. It give more than we expected (for students price). But still is freezing cold at night there, really freezing cold.

Early in the afternoon we continue our journey to the butterfly farm and cactus point. As the name suggest it the place has a variety of butterfly species as well as other insect and reptiles. At cactus point the place also gave a wide variety of flower and cactus.

Then we spent the late afternoon at the local market to buy our dinner. Thought I find myself in a big doubt of the hygine of that place. So I ate very little for the night.

Snippet: My top 5 anime yet

Every one has a kind art form that he/she like. For me i like anything that is visual. Visual and creativity has played a very important factor in my life, photography is such an example. So here i want to post my top 5 of some kinda visual form. The first one, i would like to post my top 5 anime.

-> 1 <- Code geass R2.

If haven't since this anime dont even think call yourself anime fan. This anime is voted as masterpice by many anime website. What is masterpiece about this anime is not is drawing but the story plot. Is beautiful, is reality and is human. It portrait the cruel of reality, evil versus good. As beauty is subjective, so as truth and goodness. Something could be good and bad depends on the situation. Personally I'm moved by this anime coz i feel like that's my life, ever searching to find the elusive line between what is bad, good, and better. Everything change between the perspective of human.

-> 2 <- My neighbour totoro and the Grave of fire fly

Both anime is from gibbli studio. Cant really choose which one of this two is better than the other. Both dont have good graphic but each have its strong component. My neighbour hold the crown for character creativity. The character is a live, fun and just huggeable ^_^. after so many years since its been publish, the totoro character still is big hit. While the grave of fire flies is just 180 opposite to the totoro. The story is so damn sad. The story start with the dieing of the main character and the plot build upon how this main character died. How his mother was burn a life, how his sister die because illness and malnutrition's and how at last how died alone, and viewed as another trash. Is really sad.

Men i love this anime, is damn good. The plot, the chracter, the machine to graphic is just wonderful. I watch this anime when i was in matrixculation, The story is long but worth every second to watch it. Whats stand out about this anime is how each character react to the story plot.

->5<- Princess monoke

Princess mononoke is another studio gibblie production ( the trurth is i'm such a big fan of studio gibblie) and again if you haven't watch princess mononoke dont even think of calling yourself anime lover. Is legendary anime. Like most studio gibblie production, this anime play arpund the issue of conserving nature and how destructive human are. It also depict the Japanese mythical creature. Is great anime with timeless story plot.

Evening photo shoot with my little brother

It's been boring seen I submitted my thesis. I don't have anything to pursue, no important objective to fulfill. So I asked my brother to accompany me to a photo shoot. So i picked my camera, borrowed my mother car, and off we went to the park.

Arrived at the park ( Taman Tasik Cempaka), I found something fun to do. Trying to shoot the crow and the other bird. The quality of the shoot is not really good, lot of noise. This is because i have to use my 300 mm lese due to crow is very nervous to human. They flew right away when i tried to get close to them. So here some shoot not really great thought

The shoot above is unedited, it look that way because I alter the white balance mood on my camera. Most of digital camera has this feature, search for it. It is really great feature as it allow you take in the kind of light you like in the picture. For example in the photo above I wound the light to be golden evening light. So I took white balance that gave that effect. Most of you will use the auto white balance, take this tip turn it off. Because auto white balance will delete the color of the light you are in. If you use auto white balance, picture that you took in the morning, afternoon and evening will all look the same.

As I took my shoot, it began to rain. Fearing my camera isn’t water proof so I ran back to the car. The evening was still early, so we then of to putrajaya.

Snippet: Tesis dan Hikmah

Alhamdulilah, segala kesyukuran kepada Allah s.w.t. Draft tesis ak sempat di hantar kepada penyelia dan pemeriksa aku, walaupun agak terlambat namun banyak hikmah berlaku di sebalik tesis ni. So ak ingin brkongsi sdikit dgn korang tetang beberapa hikmah yang berlaku sepanjang ak buat tesis ni.

Yang first skali adalah masalah awal sem 1, ak diberi tajuk satu bulan lewat berbanding dengan member course ak yg lain. Bila rata-rata mmber ak dh dpt tajuk, dh boleh start buat pengajian pepustakaan, ak masih menunggu-nunggu.

Well sblum ak dpt tajuk tsis ak ni, ak nye laptop nazak, rosak dgn sgt heavy skali. Laptop ak ni walaupun ak jatuh cinta pandngan pertama, dia ngada-ngada. Hampir setiap sem rosak. Tapi kali ni paling teruk, mother board rosak. RM 700 nak ganti. Mak ak ckp baik beli baru computer baru je lah. So ak ambik kptusan utk beli pc baru.

Hikmah laptop ak rosak: skali dpt tajuk, tgk-tgk ak dpat pasal simulasi komputer. So sgt menggunakan komputer. Alhamdulilah ak nye pc kira pwr ahh gak, so dpt buat simulasi komputer dgn cpat dan dpt bnyka data dgn banyak. So tu lah hikmah pertama, sbb beli pc baru ak dpt buat simulasi tesis ak dgn lancar. Klau ak x beli pc baru, ak rasa laptop ak akn mngada-mngada lagi dan rosak tgh jalan.

Ak nye tesis sbnarnya bnyk masalah gak sbnarnya, atas sebab sebab yang tak disangka-sangak oleh aku, penyelia ak dan juga sub-penyelia aku. So ak agak lambat mula tulis tsis. berbanding ngan bdk lain, ak Viva sebelum ak tulis tesis, yep masa ak viva, satu tajuk pun blum siap.

So ak plan utk siapkan masa sem 3 dan antar hujung bulan ni. But bila dah masuk sem 3 ak nak dftar, skali tgk dah x boleh. ak lambat -_-! .... unit akedemik pun x bagi ak daftar sem 3. Aku cuak gak masa tu, ak nye tesis blum hntar and ak tak boleh daftar kajian ilmiah utk sem 3.

So dgn cuak dan tertekan (adui...) ak pun ambik keputusan utk cuba siapkan tesis ak dlm masa kurang 2 minggu.

Hikmah ak x boleh daftar sem 3: yang pertma ofcourse ak jimat 15 RM (denda dftar lambt). then, skali tgk ak boleh siapkan tesis ak dlm masa tu, ak produce tesis dengan ketebalan lebih100 muka surat (pusat fizik hanya bagi buat sampai 50 page, x tau ahh camana tu nanti)... alhamdulilah. Hikmah dia yg kdua, ak x mmbazirkan masa buat kerja-kerja yg x berfaedah.

Mula-mula ak bajet nak hantar rabu ni, tapi ak paksa diri gak buat dlm keadaan pening dan tertekan dan habiskan hari ni (isnin).

Hikmah ak tulis tesis dlm pning dan tertekan: hikmah dia supaya ak boleh hantar draft hari isnin. Sbb bila ak jumpa penyelia aku tadi, dia ckp dia dah nak gi jepun. Dia free esk ngan lusa je. Fuhhhh.... alhamdulilah ak hntar hari ni, klau x susah dia nak baca, susah pulak ak nak dpt markah. Si biar lah dia baca tesis ak dlm keadaan tenang dan aman.

Tapi tengah-tengah jumpa penyelia aku, dia mintak aku print aku nye repot. Biasanya sebelum ni dia mintak ak bagi e-mail je pastu penyelia ak sndiri print pakai printer laser dia tu. Adui aii.... kena print lak, masalah...

masalah kerana ak nye printer dah rosak ngan ak nye repot banyak color and 100 lebih muka surat. penyelia ak jugak mintak hantar report yang di print tu as soon as possible, hari ni gak klau bleh. Ak pun bergegas lah kluar gi print.

Hikmah ak kena print draft tesis ak: hohoho, apa hikmah dia, aku pun bergegas ke pusanika nak kluarkan duit utk print tesis. smpai-smpai kat pusan jumpa ngan member course ak. Dia tanya ak dah mintak elaun tesis dari JPA ke belum. HUHHHHHHH!!!!! elaun tesis jpa. sblum ni ak ingat elaun tu masuk scara automatik, rupa-rupanya ke mintak. Alhamdulilah jumpa membar ak tu, dapat tau pasal elaun. tu pun sipi-sipi je nak miss dia. dia pun ckp dian da nak balik esk.

tapi kisah hari yang penuh hikmah ini x berakhir kat situ. mula-mula ak gi kedai A utk print, pc kedai tu bagi virus lak kat thumbdrive ak. X boleh bukak ak nye file, gi pulak kedai B, antivirus kedai tu delete lak ak nye file yang dah kena infacted. AHhhhhhh..... ak balik umah masukkan balik gi kedai B balik. Dah nak print dah ni, skali abg kedai tu ckp page yang ada color RM 2 semuka. WHAT!!!!!! RM 2 !!!!, tak sanggup ak. Byngkan, ak ada 100 lebih muka surat, banyak graf bercolor and aku kena buat 2 salinan. Ngan ni baru draft tak tau lagi berapa banyak kena print lagi lepas ni. X sanggup aku.

Balik umah, tension.

fikir-fikir kat rumah, ak ambik keputusan lebih baik aku beli printer baru je, aku pun sms lah member ak yang aku rasa Insya'Allah bleh tlg aku. Alhamdulilah, anaf, mmber ak dari sekolah ckp nak tlg aku. Kita org pun gi ahh ke kedai komputer belakang warta.

Hikmah ak beli printer baru: smpai kedai tu ak trus beli printer canon RM 135. RM 135 je!!! what, murah siut. Sebelum tu ak dah survey harga catridge canon. untuk catridge hitam rm 65 utk warna lak rm 70. So klau ak nak beli dua-dua catridge utk print tesis ak, dah ambik RM 135.

So korang tgk camni, 2 catridge tanpa printer baru harganya RM 135. Beli printer baru harga RM 135 dapat dua catridge. Keran ak mmg dah terpaksa keluar duit utk print, so i think is a good deal. Alhamduliah.

So tu lah sedikit sebanyak apa yang berlaku sepanjang aku buat tesis ak ni. Ada hikmahnya, yang aku tau dan insya'Allah ak rasa ada banyak lagi hikmah yang ak tak tau. Allah s.w.t. maha mengetahui dan rancangan adalah maha sempurna lagi maha halus. So klau korang ditimpa kesusahan atau keberukkkan, korang jangan nampak benda tu sebagai 100% buruk. Kemungkinan ada hikmah yang baik di belakangnya yang kita tak tau. Alhamdulillah, last saturday my brother ceremonial wedding take place without any problem, it was a smooth event. Yeah, my brother over did it again, he himself plan much out of the event and take even the fine detail. And he succeeded it, he event my mom surprise.

I don't know what to say than to simply put it was a beautiful wedding. I'm not really big fan wedding because usually wedding food aren't that great sometimes event un-eatable. But this wedding food is OK. It was a beautiful wedding

Assalamualaikum, yeah its been a while since i pick up my camera. I got a lot of studying to do and my thesis is still in the process of writing. I put the writing process on hold to concentrate on my examination.

Insya'Allah whats coming up for my next photo shoot? There is my brother weeding on this 9 Mei, I have invited some of my friends, hope they come. Then there is the special posting that i have planned to do for a while. The special posting will be made in the honorary of my late father, Prof Madya Dr Md Ali. The posting will be about CHOCOLATE. Yep my father is prof of lecture. You can say when my father is still around my house is like chocolate laboratory. All kind of chocolate was there in my house. In spite of there is so many chocolate to choose from, like dark chocolate, white or brown and lots of variety filling to choose like nuts, fruit and many more. I still end up liking the ordinary brown chocolate with no filling. Just plain usual chocolate. I don't know why i don't like the rich and extraordinary chocolate.

Because the shooting involve chocolates, so I'm planing to experiment with many type of chocolate in many forms (melting chocolate for example). And that of course will end up using many chocolate. I don't think i can eat all the chocolates that will be use in the shoot since I'm not big fan of sweet. So I'm inviting those who are reading this for some chocolate snack courtesy of me after the shoot. Insya'Allah. first come first serve. ^_^

Assalamualaikum.

Insya'Allah for me the best thing about a photo because is because the memory it capture. For me, my photo album is like my dairy, my biography. The book that tells a story about the things i have been through in my life. I don't delete or throw picture away, even thought the picture tell a painful story, because i have to accept it as part of my life. Life is about life, is not a fairytale, so thunder storm and hurricane are just a part of one's life.

But one of the thing i treasure most in my life is my friend. The one whom came to my life and by Allah s.w.t. fate change me, change the way how i look the world. They influence me, I like when they are by my side, and i try my best to support them. They have been the best of Friend in my life.

I'm the one in the blue hat. The left one is my first ever best friend while the middle one is his saudara whom also my close friend. My first ever beest friend name is Mohammad Shahril Shamaun and his saudara is Aiman Azfar. So what his contribution. Enormous, the one whom start influence me about game, anime, manga and punk music. huhuhu. Oh those day. They came in my life when i was 14 year old. And we depart when i was 16 when He moves back to perak. This the only photo which there is me, shahril, and aiman. So its priceless

His name is Sarhan, his came to my life when I was in perak matriculation. He is the one whom great me first in front of the library. Since then we have been the best of friend. I really like to be with him, he is a really good nice person.

The one at the right is Faris Razali. Insya'All i think He is the most innocent creature i can find, yet. He never pretend to be strong, nor never to pretend to be some one other that himself. I really like to be at his side, cause his ankward chracter, his dramatic behaviour and his love to smile (he smile a lot) make me feel great. Make me in touch to the humble me inside. He tend to make me laught. I like to say one thing to him, i already like his chracter. The left one is nazri and the right one is che ahmad. What this two have in commend is love for adventure. There fill my thirst for adventure. Now nazri is a person whom peoply easly misunderstood, he is like vegeta in dragon ball. He is very nice, VERY LOYAL person. Girls if you one a sexy, understanding and mysterious, his is the guy for you. What about che ahmad, he is the reverse of nazri. Even though he look skema and innocent, innocent is the least of his chracter. but he is still really nice and understanding, playfull to. The thing about che ahmad is that he is a multi tasker and tend be good in what he does. If you want a progressive leader, whom can make you reach the star, his the man.

Insya'Allah I'm back giving simple, easy to do technique that can make you produce great picture. For my second tips, i like to introduce to you the power of cropping. For you all whom is to pretty sure what cropping means, it just another term for cutting a segment of you picture that you dint want.

Cropping is very important step of editing your picture, because many astonishing picture are hidden in bad picture. In this way you can introduce new focus, perspective, even angle in your picture.

In this tutorial, I'm just using simple photo editing software. Picasa 3. A free software from google. The software has nice interface, easy to use tools and very good in editing a massive collection of photo in one moment.

Enough writing, lets the photo do the talking now.

Now let me show you a very bad picture. However there is a hidden beautiful picture in it if you look closely.

Q-tips: Simple tips on how to take astonishing picture.

Insya'Allah here i gave some easy to do, simple tips on how take beautiful, stunning and pro-like picture. You don't need power full camera, no photoshop editing and can be done by most people.

First

Try to avoid putting your subject at right at the center. This technique is call off-center, try to shift the subject a little bit off the center. This will create a more realistic, dynamic and most importantly in-symmetrical picture. Symmetrical picture tend to be boring.

Example are this photos below, the subject is at the center creating a symmetry photo which is boring for me.

Insya'Allah try to put some layers in your picture. What this mean is that try to have object position at the front, center and back in your picture. This will create a sense of depth in the picture and avoiding picture looking flat. This is more easy to understood when looking at the picture below.

First look at this flat picture. everything is at the center or at the back.

Sense of depth could also created when there is a point where every thing become smaller,

Try to take picture from an angle and not with the same level of the subject. From above, from below, from the side, close up, from distance or even from a corner. This will naturally create a sense of depth, a pro-like picture and not candid picture.

Most of you when as to take a picture you will a go a shoot taken from an angle something like below, at the same level from the object.
